When you think dystopian, what images come to mind? Many of you know that May is Mental Health Awareness month. And since we’re only two days in, I wanted to share this particular book with you. β€œπ‘€β„Žπ‘’π‘› π‘¦π‘œπ‘’ π‘€π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘ π‘ π‘œπ‘šπ‘’π‘‘β„Žπ‘–π‘›π‘”, π‘Žπ‘™π‘™ π‘‘β„Žπ‘’ π‘’π‘›π‘–π‘£π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘ π‘’ π‘π‘œπ‘›π‘ π‘π‘–π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘  𝑖𝑛 β„Žπ‘’π‘™π‘π‘–π‘›π‘” π‘¦π‘œπ‘’ π‘‘π‘œ π‘Žπ‘β„Žπ‘–π‘’π‘£π‘’ 𝑖𝑑.β€œ A contemporary YA with a touch of the paranormal, The Accident Season is full of wild imagery, eerie happenings, and beautiful characters. This is a book full of secrets made to hide other secrets, and the stories we tell ourselves to make sense of our trauma. What’s a book that’s been in your TBR pile for years? πŸ“š Do you collect old books? Better yet, do you read them? πŸ“š β € Sitting here staring at the 14 inches of snow that I most definitely did NOT sign up for when I moved to the beach. So I decided it was time to finally read House of Salt & Sorrows, a retelling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses. This gorgeous cover is giving me my ocean vibes but with a ghostly twist. Perfect to curl up with under a cozy blanket. For those who have read it: in the realm of retellings, does this one succeed? 🍁To my followers who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving!🍁 @smallestuniverse was my favorite prof/thesis advisor during my Masters program, and is also the author of this fabulous coming-of-age novel! I recently re-read it, and I feel like my Goodreads review still encapsulates my feelings perfectly, so I’m sharing it here.
